Thirty-four students, from Degree and Master's Degree, from School of Education and Psychology, visited the Senda Viva park in Arguedas, Navarra. The students, who were accompanied by Professor Elena Arbués; the coordinator of programs of study, Loreto Pérez-Santana; the manager de Carrer Services of the Center, Nuria Ascunce; and the two people responsible for the Communication of the School, traveled the 89 kilometers that separate the University from the park with the goal to learn about the educational possibilities it offers (Senda Viva).

The group, led by the park's educators, made its way through El Pueblo, which together with La Granja, La Feria and El Bosque make up the four parts of the park. They were accompanied on the tour by Lucía Hernández, director of department de Medio Ambiente and in charge of educational activities; Marta Lourido, team member; Raquel del Árbol, who has just finished a scholarship; and Óscar Rivas, a biologist who has just started one.

"The dimensions of our great classroom are these 120 hectares, last year 180,000 visitors passed through it, and more than 150,000 schoolchildren. However, these students are very different from those in the classrooms, since there is no continuity with them, they are only here for a few hours," explained Lucía Hernández. "Our goal in the park is to educate, raise awareness and sensitize, and for this we base our work on educating through games, experiences and experiences," she added.

When they arrived at the La Feria area, which had a circus tent, Marta Lourido commented that there were clown and trapeze shows, as well as birds of prey shows. Also, the monitors were explaining the different workshops and activities offered by the park - "Caregiver for a day", "Amazing zoo world", summer camps ... -. "The challenge is to keep transforming and reinventing the activities, since there are many children who repeat year after year," said Lucía Hernández.

The team also had the opportunity to visit contact with birds of prey, macaws, an owl, a meerkat, giant Madagascar cockroaches, and a snake.

The students also heard the testimony of Nagore Laclaustra, a former MUP student from Guipuzcoa, who entered contact with Senda Viva thanks to the conference sectorial organized by Career Services of the University. "The truth is that this experience has changed me completely, because, even if you have a bad day, you get here and you find on the one hand, the animals, who do not judge you, and then the enthusiasm of the children, which is always contagious." Laclaustra is now a member of the park's Caretaker's department , after having worked at Education and having been trained in animal care.

The students learned from the experience that Education in the park is experiential and that, as Lucía Hernández said, "educating should always be fun and this will ensure that learning is also fun".
