The University of Navarra and the Fundación Ciudadanía y Valores create the Chair Álvaro d'Ors in the ICS.
It will promote the interdisciplinary and transversal research in Law and Human and Social Sciences, and will focus on Global Law, Spirituality and Society, and Political Leadership in Latin America.

The University of Navarra and the Fundación Ciudadanía y Valores have signed an agreement agreement to promote the Chair Álvaro d'Ors at the Institute for Culture and Society (ICS), the research center in Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Navarra.
The new Chair seeks to promote the interdisciplinary and transversal research in the area of Law and Human and Social Sciences. Initially, it will focus on three areas: Global Law, Spirituality and Society, and Political Leadership in Latin America. It will also address subjects related to the fundamentals of law, politics and morality, human rights, History of Law, as well as current issues related to this discipline.
Rafael Domingo Oslé, Full Professor researcher at ICS and professor researcher at Emory University in Atlanta (USA), will be the head of the new Chair. Professor Domingo is a disciple of Álvaro d'Ors, with whom he worked for more than twenty years.
"Don Alvaro was a great university teacher with very broad and disparate intellectual interests. In our days, the research in the area of the Humanities is excessively fragmented and must be integrated. This effort to integrate knowledge so present in the Chair gives perfect continuity to his bequest", said Rafael Domingo.
The Law financial aid to understand the globalized worldagreement Likewise, the head of the Chair referred to the role of Law in the understanding of today's society: "The globalized world forces us to get in touch with people, institutions and States with very different cultural identities. For this reason, the law plays a fundamental role in ordering disagreements and facilitating processes of relationship and understanding. Without the law, for example, Brexit would have been chaos".
The Institute for Culture and Society (ICS) develops research interdisciplinary, international and with social impact in three converging areas of the Humanities and Social Sciences: 'Be human-Human Being', 'Challenges of the Hispanic World' and 'Identity of Europe'.
The Fundación Ciudadanía y Valores is a private, non-profit organization, detached from any political ideology, whose purpose is promote intellectual reflection and public discussion . It is organized as a high school of programs of study multidisciplinary , formed by people who contribute ideas for the development and dissemination of reports and reflections on issues of social relevance.
