Last Wednesday, May 22, Manuel Jiménez Conde passed away, Professor Emeritus of Tecnunthe School of Engineering of the University of Navarra. Mechanical Engineer by the School of Engineering of Bilbao and PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of Navarra, he held, since 1976, different positions in Tecnun as the Office of Student Affairs, deputy director and director of Admissions Office.

A native of Cadiz, he was known at the University of Navarra as the "father of promotion". So says Carlos Bastero, director of Tecnun between 1993 and 2008: "He was a pioneer in raising the need to visit schools throughout Spain to get students and many alumni came to the School thanks to his efforts".

For his part, José María Bastero, President of the University of Navarra between 1996 and 2005, refers to him as a professor devoted to his students, to whom he dedicated his best efforts so that "they would acquire a good intellectual training and an indelible awareness of their social responsibility".

In the words of Mikel Arcelus, current director of Admissions Office, Jiménez Conde was "the father of the Tecnun graduating class and of the University of Navarra. He established the instructions of an excellent graduating class based on his personality, such as gentlemanliness, kindness, closeness, sense of humor, rigor, care for small details, elegance, affection and empathy".
