Tecnun hosted the local final of the Telecommunications Olympiad

On March 28th the School held the final of the local phase of the Telecommunications Olympiad with the participation of two works of students from the Jesuitas de Bilbao high school as finalists, being the winner the project of an intelligent irrigation control system for agricultural use.
The two finalist teams, from the same high school, presented their corresponding projects to the jury. The first one, composed by Marcos Ruiz, Aimar Ayuso, Jon Santero, Jon González and Pablo Contreras, consisted of the development of a self-sufficient village model , combining renewable sources and consumption efficiency.
The second and winner of the local phase was composed of Héctor Herrero, Iñigo Suso, Jon Ispizua, Xabier Giménes-Bretón, Alfonso Álvarez and Arturo. Their work integrated an intelligent irrigation system for agricultural use, optimizing water consumption by means of sensors and remote communication.
In addition to the competition, which consisted of a presentation and explanation of the model, the students visit the Tecnun facilities. Tecnunthe School of Engineering of the University of Navarra, and had a discussion paper by professor and doctor Héctor Solar Ruiz.
The competition was attended by teachers and accompanying persons. During the local phase of the Olympiad we had the partnership of the IEEE circuits and system society.
The national finals for high school diploma teams will be held online from May 21-23 and the awards submission will take place on Friday, June 13 at 10:00 am.
