Three students from the University receive a national journalism award award for a report published in 'Nuestro Tiempo'.

Three students of the University of Navarra have been awarded in Don Benito (Badajoz) with the National Journalism award 'Francisco Valdés', which was celebrating its XXV edition. Juan González(Journalism), Nuria Martínez(Literature and Creative Writing) and Hombeline Ponsignon (Philosophy andJournalism) took part in the modality of the contest, which is exclusively aimed at student works published in the media.

The winning report, degree scroll "De lo artificial en el arte", was published in the magazine Nuestro Tiempo in April 2023. In the category open to audiovisual works, "La lotería del mar", by Elena Ambrona and María Teresa Santana, was recognized.

Journalist Andros Lozano won the first prize award in the general category thanks to his report "Guadalquivir, la procesión del hachís" (Guadalquivir, the hashish procession), published in El Mundo. The jury awarded two runner-up prizes: one to "La vida secreta del asesino de Arturo Ruiz", by José María Irujo and Joaquín Gil, published in El País; and "La vida en el centro", by Ana Pérez-Bryan Tello, published in Diario Sur.

In their words of thanks upon receiving the award, the three students of the University of Navarra highlighted the work of their mentors at Nuestro Tiempo. The award-winning article was result of its passage through the "Cultural Magazine Editing Program" that this medium has been carrying out since 2022; an experience offered to students from any Degree of the academic center who wish to train in long-form reporting and in the process of creating a cultural medium.
