The University of Navarra and the association del Deporte Español sign an agreement agreement for promote training sports activities.
The University's Olympic Center programs of study will launch three courses in mediation, law and sports management next academic year.
The Olympic programs of study Center of the University of Navarra and the association of Spanish Sport (ADESP) have signed a partnership agreement to promote training sports activities aimed at both students of the University and athletes of high performing, coaches and sports managers.
The Alumni Vice President , Tomás Gomez-Acebo and the president of Adesp, José Hidalgo have signed the agreement, which is based on the premise of understanding sport as an instrument at the service of the integral training of the person. From agreement with this principle, both the University and Adesp "wish to make special diffusion of all the philosophical values that make up the Olympic spirit, as well as the cultural and humanistic dimension of sport, both in the university environment and in society in general," it is stated.
"The University's commitment to sports is core topic," said Tomás Gómez-Acebo. "Our goal with this agreement is that our students have a good training and fill in their programs of study of Degree with training programs in the field of sport in general," he detailed. For his part, José Hidalgo has pointed out the need to advance in the transformation in the world of sport. "This transformation needs alliances with the best and the best in training is the University of Navarra. We start with these courses, with which we want to lead in these three areas the training online", he said.
The event was also attended by the director General Manager of high school Navarro del Deporte, Miguel Pozueta, and the Councilor for Sports of the City Council of Pamplona, Fernando Aranguren, along with other presidents of Spanish and Navarre sports federations.
Sports Mediation, Sports Law and Sports ManagementAs a result of this agreement, the Olympic programs of study Center of the University of Navarra will promote during the next academic year 2020-21 the organization of different activities of training sports, which can be taken in person and also telematically. The association of Spanish Sport, in turn, will collaborate in the dissemination and promotion of these activities and may also propose and invite speakers to participate in the various sessions of training.
The first three courses that Hidalgo referred to are: "The economic dimension of sport", a Sports Law course, which will be held between October 27 and November 26, both in person and online; "Skills for managing conflicts", a Sports Mediation course, which will be held online between November 5 and 26; and "Skills for managing the business of sport", a Sports Management course, which will be held online from January 10 to April 30.
