The University of Navarra'sinstitute of modern languages had 3,196 registrations this academic year 2016-17, including students and employees of the academic center, as well as the general public. This center currently teaches nine languages -German, Arabic, Chinese, Basque, French, English, Italian, Portuguese and Russian-, as well as specific preparation programs for international certification exams: Cambridge English and TOEFL (English), DELF (French) and CELI (Italian).
According to Miguel Lucas, General Manager of high school, there has been a significant increase in demand for languages other than English. He highlights, in this regard, the study of Arabic, which in two academic years has reached 35 students in two different levels of knowledge; and it is planned that in academic year 2017-2018 three levels will be offered. "For their part," he says, "students of German, Chinese, French, and Italian have increased steadily over the past five years.
With regard to the study of English, "there is a growing need in the labor market to obtain an international certification (Cambridge English or TOEFL iBT), with an increase in the number of students in the preparation courses". In addition to being an international exam preparation center, the institute of modern languages of the University of Navarra has been an Examination Center for the University of Cambridge Examinations since 1971.
The center has just started the period of enrollment for the 2017-18 course, which will remain open until September 8. All the information about schedules, levels, programs, etc. is available at available on the website: www.unav.edu/web/high school -de-idiomas
