Eduardo Olier, president of high school business and Humanism of the University of Navarra, presented his book "Geoeconomics: the keys to the global Economics ". The event took place at the academic center and was attended, in addition to the author, by Rafael Alvira, director of high school, and Reyes Calderón, dean of the School of Economics. Ana Palacio, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, has written the prologue of this work whose goal is, according to Eduardo Olier, "to show the Economics from the complexity of global interactions."

The book describes the present global geoeconomic and geopolitical panorama. Beginning with a review of the geopolitical background of today's world and the contextualization of globalization, it addresses issues such as the geopolitics of fear, failed states or the imbalances of globalization.

The second part of the book delves into the state of different economic regions and the third is devoted to the global challenges of geoeconomics, among which the author places: the economic crisis and conflicts of interest in relation to oil, gas or water. The last part, devoted to "strategic intelligence", discusses economic wars as the new wars of power, cybersecurity or a new form of terrorism: piracy. As the author himself acknowledges, "each part of this book could constitute a volume in itself".

Eduardo Olier stresses that "while the West is in deep crisis, the other 'powers' do not have much to offer either". He also refers to powers such as China, India, newly industrialized and oil-rich countries such as those in the Middle East: "There is a global status loss of meaning in life that economic prosperity has shown it does not solve," he says.
