24 students from the University of Navarra have formed the challenge Genovifem with the goal to work for equality between women and men. This team is made up of students from different Schools who are united by the idea that this effective equality is essential for the progress of humanity.

Among the lines of work initiated by challenge Genovifem are those of making visible the contribution of women throughout history and analyzing the various proposals launched by UN Women, the UN entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women. These include actions against violence and access to resources, the results of which are presented and discussed in seminars.

In this sense, and on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which is celebrated tomorrow, Saturday 25, the students of challenge Genovifem have launched a video against gender violence with a message that calls for joint action to end this scourge in our society and fight for co-responsibility.

The students, who belong to the Degrees of Law, ADE, International Office, Nursing and Philosophy, are: Lucía Serrano, Lourdes Colom, Marta Díaz, Marta Aguirre, Silvia Erdocia, Rafaella Dalmau, José Alfredo Alegría, María Martín, Cristina Adanero, Nagore Mugueta, Daniel Torrecilla, Ignacio Sánchez, Miguel Pascual, Josep María Nicolás, Jaime Claver, Ana López Recalde, Veronica Suoheimo, Iraya Caro, Carmen Andueza, Garhem O. Padilla, Reyes Ruiz, Paula Solarte, Iago Blanco and Sylvia Erroz.

Recognizing the work of women in history

The goal is that this team multidisciplinary, which includes future professionals of law, nursing, business and Humanities, will make known the work that women have done throughout history and continue to do today in different areas of their lives staff and professional. It also aims to denounce the difficulties they have faced and continue to face on the road to equality.

challenge Genovifem is coordinated by a group of professors who focus their work on programs of study on Women and who are part of the group of research in Recent History (GIHRE) of the University of Navarra. These professors decided in September to create a joint group of work with students from various Schools motivated to participate in project.
