The Auditorio de Congresos Baluarte in Pamplona hosted last Saturday, February 23rd, a classical music concert organized by Belagua students, whose purpose was to raise funds to help immigrant families residing in Navarra who are cared for by the CORE foundation. The concert was performed by the Orquesta Académica de Madrid, conducted by the also former Belagua resident and former student of the University of Navarra, Íñigo Pírfano. In addition, they were joined by the renowned Brazilian pianist Álvaro Siviero at partnership .

At the beginning of the event, two Belagua schoolchildren, accompanied by a representative of the families benefited by this initiative, explained the goal of this initiative: "to unite two essential aspects of the formative task of the elderly such as culture and solidarity". As they explained to the nearly one thousand attendees, with this event they proposed to "move forward projecting our activity and cultural concerns at the service of the society of Pamplona and Navarra and to raise awareness of the need to not live absent from the problems of our immediate and distant environment".

The profits obtained through the sale of tickets and donations made at the end of the concert, have been entirely allocated to project of Social Classrooms of the CORE Foundation.

The concert was attended by a large representation of students and professors from the universities of the Comunidad Foral, as well as numerous representatives of the Navarrese society and friends united under the same passion for music. During the two hours of the concert, two masterpieces by the German composer L. V. Beethoven were performed: The Piano Concerto No. 5 "The Emperor" and his acclaimed 5th Symphony. The interpretation of both works aroused the enthusiasm of the audience whose prolonged applause attested to the good art of Pírfano's baton and Siviero's skill at the piano.

This concert was possible thanks to the generous support of institutions and companies that joined the solidarity cause that sponsored the concert. Among others, closely collaborated the City Council of Pamplona, the service of Cultural Activities Office of the University of Navarra, Volkswagen Navarra, the group ACR, the hotel Blanca de Navarra, the Naturalista, Wok to Walk, Banco Santander, the florist Nekane, the law firm Pretium and the foundation Diario de Navarra.
