Yolanda Barcina, Mayor of Pamplona; Juan Ramón Corpas, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Government of Navarra; and Francisco Pérez, Archbishop of Pamplona, have inaugurated the exhibition of the bells of the Cathedral, which will show the set of historical bronzes of the temple of Pamplona until its rise to the towers in 2011.

The students of the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra María de la Paz Díaz and Bárbara Martínez -students of the specialization in Rehabilitation and Restoration of Architecture (RRA) of the academic center- are the architects of the proposal carried out by the Caja Madrid Foundation to compose this space.

The ten bells of the XVI, XVII, XVIII and XIX centuries, coming from the towers of the Cathedral façade and exhibited in the courtyard of the Archdeaconry, were being restored in the specialized workshops of Nördlingen (Germany) and Massanassa (Valencia) since their departure from Pamplona in October 2009.

The opening ceremony was also attended by Pío Díaz de Tuesta, director of programs of the Caja Madrid Foundation; Julián García, director of the Álava, Navarra and La Rioja area of Caja Madrid; and Carlos Ayerra, dean of the Cathedral of Pamplona.

Representing the University of Navarra were Rubén Alcolea, Deputy Director of the School of Architecture, Professor Leopoldo Gil and students María de la Paz Díaz and Bárbara Martínez.
