Third year students of Degree in Architecture at the University of Navarra have presented their proposals for the ideal city of the XXI century. This is the fifth and last exercise of the subject Urbanism I in the academic year 2012-2013.

The brief was to develop an ideal city for 35,000 inhabitants (1,000 dwellings) in a large geographic location at leave California (Mexico), on the inland coast of the Peninsula, within the Gulf of California, between the cities of San Felipe and La Paz. The specific area within that territory, at the option of each group, was to be 1.6 x 1.2 kilometers in size, with a maximum of 15% occupied by water.

Together with the 1/2000 scale model and the report of the proposal, the students have prepared 6 tourist postcards reflecting the character and general atmosphere of the city.

"An Ideal City is the graphic expression of an optimistic faith. It is based on improvement and reveals an attitude that stresses not only happiness staff, but the fundamental importance of community factors. The Ideal City has always represented a harmonious vision between the needs of the population and art, a combination of the regularity of design and the concern for the betterment of society," state those responsible for the subject in the statement of the exercise.
