Ricardo Piñero: "With love you build your life, with work you sustain what you have built and solidify it".

Around 150 alumni gathered at the Fundación Ibercaja - Patio de la Infanta in Zaragoza for the third Alumni Meeting 2024.

Under the degree scroll "work and life: the pending revolution" the third Alumni Meeting 2024 was held at the Fundación Ibercaja - Patio de la Infanta in Zaragoza. About 150 alumni attended this meeting to listen to the Full Professor of Aesthetics in the School of Philosophy and Letters, Ricardo Piñero. In addition, the event counted with the participation of María Iraburu (BIO'872 | PhD'92), president of the University.

During the session, Professor Piñero reflected on the value of work to dignify the human being, mentioning that "with love you build your life, with work you sustain what you have built and solidify it". He also stressed how work can improve people's lives when "it is no longer seen as a burden and is understood as a project that can clean and paint our lives to turn them into something beautiful". 

After the intervention of speaker and the question and answer session, Jorge Cartañá (ECO'96), president of the board Alumni Zaragoza, invited the president of the University to the stage to dedicate a few words to the alumni of Zaragoza. María Iraburu wanted to thank the alumni for their union with the University and the illusion to maintain the contact with her. In addition, making reference letter to Piñero's words, she emphasized that "the University is making great efforts to develop the humanistic training of the students to encourage the alumni of the University to be great professionals with ethical and moral coordinates that change the world with their work". He also took the opportunity to share some of the priority projects that the University is working on, the BIOMA Center and the Alumni Scholarships as the alumni are part of them. 

To conclude the event, the presenter invited those present to join the WhatsApp groups of Alumni Zaragoza and Alumni Huesca in which information is shared about the events taking place at the University. Finally, he invited the attendees to join the cocktail party to continue the conversation, reconnect and network.


 

Alumni Meetings: next stop

On May 9, the Alumni Meetings will also travel to Seville to discuss medical advances and innovation in oncology with Dr. Bruno Sangro (MED-PhD'94) and Dr. Miguel Angel Idoate (MED'82 | PhD'87). With these events, the University aims to generate a space for meeting and dialogue with the alumni in which they can expand their network of contacts and their professional development and staff.
