The third edition of the "Cienceando" camps, promoted by the Science Museum of the University of Navarra, has brought together more than 300 children from all over Navarra aged between 3 and 12 years old during the summer.

The camps at Chemistry started in the last weeks of June and the participants were able to carry out a wide range of activities related to solid elements, liquids, gases, science in space or in the kitchen. Thus, from simulations of quicksand, detection of fingerprints with iodine, writing secret messages, observation of physical properties, making a volcano and a homemade fire extinguisher, "slime", rockets or spherification were carried out. In addition, during the last week of August, a camp on Chemistry was also held at partnership with association Navarra de Altas Capacidades (ANAC). 

The nature camps have been held throughout the month of August and the activities have revolved around the theme of the Museum "Earth, Beauty and Commitment". Participants have been able to measure water quality and explore the fauna and flora of the Sadar River, study birds, sow seeds, see animals with a magnifying glass, make salt crystals, create a weather vane, learn how to make recycled paper, and other dynamic activities such as treasure hunts, gymkhanas and "Land Art", among many others.

One of the monitors, Beatriz Arce, a graduate and PhD in Chemistry from the University of Navarra, has highlighted the learning of the participants in this space of knowledge dissemination of science. "The balance of the camps is very positive. The students have left with a high knowledge about science and this is, without a doubt, a turning point to encourage new scientific vocations".

The Science Museum of the University of Navarra has implemented a specificprotocol against Covid-19 so that the camps can be carried out safely. In addition to the use of masks, hand washing and safety distance, the scientific institution has tested all monitors for antigens several times a week.
