Professor Emeritus Rafael Alvira, awarded 'honorary' doctorate by the University of Montevideo

Full Professor Rafael Alvira, Professor Emeritus of the University of Navarra, has been awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Montevideo (Uruguay). Professor Alvira followed the ceremony from the headquarters of the University of Navarra in Madrid.

In his speech, he highlighted the importance of the love of knowledge or philosophical resistance in the face of radical changes. He also stressed the need to offer philosophical solutions in the face of exclusive dependence on technology.

graduate in History and in Philosophy from the University of Navarra, Rafael Alvira holds a doctorate in Philosophy from the Complutense University of Madrid and the Lateranense University of Rome. He received an honorary doctorate from the Universidad Panamericana in Mexico, and has worked at work professor and researcher at the Universidad Complutense, the Universidad de la Laguna and the Universidad de Navarra, where he is Professor Emeritus.

Founding member and vice-president of the Institute business and Humanism of the University of Navarra, he has taught at other universities in different countries. Among them, at the University of Montevideo, with which he collaborated in his beginnings.

The Full Professor Rafael Alvira has been researcher principal in numerous projects. Author of eighteen books and nearly 400 articles and papers of his specialization program, he has directed 81 doctoral thesis . He is a member of several scientific committees of journals of Philosophy, and of philosophical associations in Spain, Italy, France, Switzerland and Austria.
