Reyes Hernández (BQM'21 MIB'22) receives the I award from competition Arquímedes
His work on pediatric brain tumors has been distinguished by the administrative assistant General of Universities in the category of Biological and Biomedical Sciences.

Reyes Hernández Osuna (Seville, 1999), a student of doctorate of Cima University of Navarra, has received the first award of the XX competition Archimedes University Awards in the category of Biological and Biomedical Sciences. This competition, organized by the administrative office General of Universities since 2002, selects works of research carried out by university students in different branches of knowledge. Their tutors Marta Alonso and Sara Labiano were also distinguished with an award for the tutoring of the work presented.
During the ceremony, held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Universities, he also received the First award from the Fundación Vencer el Cáncer, a collaborating entity of the event.
The work, which is part of Reyes Hernandez's doctoral thesis , focuses on the study of the immune microenvironment in pediatric brain tumors. "This competition is an opportunity to publicize the work we do at Cima trying to cure pediatric brain tumors. It is not every day that we can make the population aware that a cure is needed for these rare tumors, and that there are groups at research that are trying to cure them," says Reyes Hernández.
Motivation to fight against childhood tumors
Graduated at Biochemistry (2021) Reyes Hernandez did the Master's Degree in research Biomedical (2022) by the University of Navarra, and joined the Solid Tumors Program at Cima to start her thesis doctoral degree in childhood brain tumors.
"Winning these awards from competition Archimedes is a motivation to continue with my programs of study of doctorate. In addition, it encourages us to continue research at laboratory to treat and cure patients and generates hope in the fight against this rare disease," says Reyes Hernández.
