The work of Fin de Master's Degree of Francisco Durán, former student of the Master's Degree in Biodiversity, Landscapes and Sustainable management of the School of Sciences of the University of Navarra has been C for its implementation by the city council of Arévalo (Ávila). It is the"Arévalo Green Belt", a proposal to condition the banks of the Adaja and Arevalillo rivers.

The project is based on a landscape intervention for public use including a description of the environment from an environmental, social and economic point of view; as well as an analysis and diagnosis of the area of interest and a proposal of action based on the recovery of degraded areas and the conditioning of a marginalized and abandoned space so that residents and visitors can get to know the environment and enjoy it.

"I presented my idea to the City Council and they liked it, but they saw it as too ambitious because of its territorial dimensions," explains the author. Therefore, "I decided to divide it into two phases, one for the restoration and conditioning of Arevalillo and the other for the section of the Adaja. Finally, the council approved the implementation of the first phase, which, once finished, will give way to the second part to complete the 'green belt'.

"The plan will be put out to tender soon, the works will start soon and I will have the privilege of directing the execution. I am aware that it is a challenge that will not be easy but I have the support of many professionals," says Francisco Durán.
