55 University students receive Global scholarships from Caja Rural de Navarra and FEUN

Registered in Navarra, the Basque Country and La Rioja, they will carry out international internships in countries such as the USA, the Dominican Republic, the United Kingdom and the Philippines.

"I'm sure we all share that mix of excitement and vertigo that accompanies experiences that take you out of the familiar. What I appreciate about this scholarship , beyond the economic, is the confidence it represents: the possibility of continuing to grow, of discovering other ways of living and thinking, and of bringing some of all that back, " said Begoña Miralles Arrondo , a student of the Degree in Philosophy , Politics and Economics (PPE) , on behalf of the 55 students of the University who have received the award this year. scholarship Global Internship Program, granted by Caja Rural de Navarra and the University of Navarra business Foundation (FEUN) .

 

The program encourages university students, born or registered in Navarra, the Basque Country or La Rioja, to carry out professional internships in non-EU countries. At the ceremony to submission the diplomas and signature the renewal of the agreement with the University, the president of Caja Rural de Navarra, Ignacio Terés Los Arcos, said: "Caja Rural is very clear that this next work experience is a very important part of your training. It will help you to grow as people, to get to know new points of view, new ways of doing things; a unique experience that you will always keep in mind. I would like to thank the University for all that it does to help us have a better society".

In addition to this program, Caja Rural de Navarra supports the University with training projects through scholarships, the promotion of sports internship and volunteer activities, among others.

For her part, the president of the University, María Iraburu, thanked the financial institution for its support, stating that "the partnership with entities such as Caja Rural is a core topic for the University of Navarra to continue contributing in an increasingly effective and lasting way to the common good, and this is achieved by betting on people. Thanks, once again, to Caja Rural for believing in our students and for investing in their future and in their ability to improve our society".

Training miles away from home

The scholarship holders continue their training in countries outside the European Union. On this occasion, the destinations chosen by the scholarship recipients were: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Honduras, Indonesia, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, Philippines, Scotland, Scotland, Switzerland, Tunisia, United Kingdom, United States and United States.

 

Begoña Miralles will do an internship this summer at the Institute of Urban and Territorial programs of study at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. "This opportunity is not only a new destination, but a natural continuity to the interests that I have cultivated during the degree program, and also a way to return -with more tools- to a country that was already part of my training in my exchange", she says.

The scholarship recipients study at different centers of the University: the School of Architecture (1), the School of Engineering-Tecnun (3), the School of Science (9), the School of Communication (3), the School of Law (7), the School Education and Psychology (6), the School of Nursing (8), the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition (1), the School of Philosophy and Letters (9) and the School of Medicine (8).

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of the academictranscript , the language level of the host country, the curriculum and the quality of the internship offered by the host business .
