The School of Economics of the University of Navarra has organized a workshop to deepen its relationship with companies in the region that collaborate with the Final Project Degree (TFG) of their students. This year, 42 young people have dedicated some of their international academic exchanges to help Navarrese companies to get to know these markets better and adapt their products for export.

Aceites Sandúa, Planasa, Creaciones Gloria, El Caserío, El Naturalista, Farraus, Inurrieta, Kider, Nekeas, Aditech, Piedemonte, Tutti Pasta, Valiryo, Serrería Alemán, Bodegas Otazu, Congelados de Navarra, association de Bodegas de Navarra, Up Internacional, Goikoa, association de Empresarios de la Madera, association de Jóvenes Empresarios de Navarra and Confederación de Empresarios de Navarra were the collaborating companies that attended the campus.

Professor manager of project, Álvaro Bañón, explained to the representatives of these companies that School of Economics "wants to contribute to the Navarrese society". The Final Project Degree "is a project with three legs: students, university and companies," he explained. "We want to ensure the best training for the students, and for this we offer companies in Navarra the best we have: the students," said Bañón. They are young people "practically graduates, bilingual, motivated; we want to refund to Navarre society for the much it has given us", he stressed.

In return, the companies that host the students obtain reports with which they can get to know the status of distant markets in situ. "Reliable, useful, orderly and documented information", explained Bañón, who insisted that the TFG "are not internships, they are not scholarship holders, there is no employment relationship, there is no economic cost and there is a commitment to confidentiality".

The student Associate Dean , Javier Arellano, also thanked the companies for collaborating and for "pushing" together with the University of Navarra. The partnership program through the TFGs started in 2013, with the Bologna educational reform: "We decided to join the TFGs with one of the hallmarks of the School: the internationalization". In fact, the School of Economics has 106 exchanges of partnership signed with universities in 36 countries on five continents. In this academic year, 209 of its students have attended at least one academic semester in one of these destinations, and the School has received 210 international students at campus in Pamplona.

The relationship business-university, a mutually beneficial combination.

The event closed with a roundtable with the participation of the CEO of Tutti Pasta, Daniel Palacio; the General Manager of Aceites Sandúa, Laura Sandúa; the director general for Europe of Planasa, Federico Crespo, and Roser Micaló, fashion designer.

Laura Sandúa assured that her business "has always believed that the relationship with the university is fundamental. It is incredible the jobs we are getting, and how they are improving over the years. In addition, we have the satisfaction of collaborating in the training of good professionals".

Roser Micaló added that the students were "very well prepared", but stressed that it is "fundamental" to elaborate "a good script for work to help student. Tell them what you want. That way they are more motivated.

Daniel Palacio agreed that at Tutti Pasta they were "very grateful; we have a new tool from research to add to our own methodology". In his opinion, expectations "have been more than met. In addition, the students "highly value the relationship with the companies, as it is generally their first connection with the professional world; they carry out a very valuable exercise".

Federico Crespo, from Planasa, explained that as business is expanding they need "people and more market information". His method: "We make it clear to the students that the work they are doing is very important for the business. In addition, we assign them a manager as tutor to each one who explains what the company is and what the strategy is, so for us the commitment to confidentiality is fundamental".
