Juan Chapa, professor at School of Theology, has been elected director of the new committee of the association Bíblica Española (ABE). The election took place in Toledo on 21 June during the celebration of the annual conference Bíblicas that the association organises every year.

The EBA was born as a response to the need posed by the Second Vatican Council to deepen the study and dissemination of the Bible. The EBA has just celebrated its 50th anniversary and brings together a large number of specialists - men and women - in the various fields of study of the Bible.

Professor Chapa says that he takes on this responsibility "with the illusion of continuing to encourage the study and dissemination of the Word of God, with the drive and encouragement of those who have gone before him".
