"The CIMA is not the walls, but its workers with their daily work."

The Archbishop of Pamplona and Bishop of Tudela, Monsignor Fernando Sebastián, blessed the research center Applied Medicine (CIMA) of the University of Navarra. The ceremony was attended by the President, José Mª Bastero, and the director general of the center, Francisco Errasti, as well as academic authorities, members of the management of the University Clinic and researchers and workers of the CIMA. The building will be officially inaugurated by the Prince and Princess of Asturias and the Princess of Viana.

During the ceremony, Bishop Fernando Sebastián said that "the CIMA is not the walls, but its workers with their daily work". He also referred to the Christian identity of the institution, pointing out that "it is an honor and an honor for the University of Navarra, for the University Clinic, for Pamplona and for the Church in Spain. Apart from the importance and performance of this center in the strictly scientific and medical field, it has a religious and Christian significance".

He also encouraged that the research carried out be characterized by "respect for the ethical postulates of Christian life and the spirit of service to the University Clinic and other biosanitary centers of the University, of Navarra and of Spain".

Finally, he thanked Bishop Álvaro del Portillo and Bishop Javier Echevarría, former and current Chancellor of the University of Navarra respectively, for their contribution to the consolidation of project . "Alvaro del Portillo encouraged us to set ambitious goals for research and Bishop Javier Echevarría, besides following the progress of CIMA with great interest, has helped us in a decisive way".

He also referred to the researchers for "the work they have carried out during these years under very tight conditions. Their work, of great intellectual stature, has made this project" credible. He thanked Bishop Fernando Sebastian for his presence, "taking time out of his busy schedule diary", and congratulated him on behalf of the University of Navarra for his upcoming episcopal jubilee on his 25th anniversary as bishop and his years of service to the Church.

In his speech, Francisco Errasti asked the scientists of CIMA to carry out "an accomplished work , well done and as a team. It is a matter of research for and on behalf of the sick person.
