The best records of the 16-17 academic year receive their award on the Patron Saint's Day of the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition.
The workshop was completed with the lecture of the director of the Planetarium of Pamplona, Javier Armentia and a paella for all participants
The School of Pharmacy and Nutrition has celebrated the Day of its Patroness with a workshop full of events that also coincided with the submission of the annual awards for the best records of Degree and postgraduate program.
The award-winning students, who graduated last year or defended their doctoral thesis , were Daniel Fresán (Degree in Pharmacy), Cristina Galarregui (Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics), Laura Laiglesia (doctoral program in Food, Physiology and Health) and Verónica Alcolea (doctoral program in Medicines and Health).
In the case of Daniel Fresán (Far 17), this recognition has made him especially excited because, although he was getting good grades during the five years of degree program, "the level in class was quite high. I knew I had a chance, but to be awarded this is really exciting". Daniel is now preparing for the spanish pharmacy residency program exam at an academy in Madrid -his goal is to take the residency program in Hospital Pharmacy in Pamplona-.
He considers that studying for the spanish pharmacy residency program requires a lot of effort, but with good organization everything is more bearable. "In fact, for me, the core topic to achieve good results is precisely organization". "Pharmacy is a long-distance degree program ," he insists, "if you organize your time it is possible to find time for everything, as long as when you have to study, you study and perform, which in the end is the way to find time for sports, friends, etc.".
Cristina Galarregui (Double Far+NHyD 2027), meanwhile, is about to start her doctoral thesis at the University's research center in Nutrition. When she received the news of the award for the best transcript of the Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, she was pleasantly surprised: "I couldn't believe it. I had to read the news several times to assimilate it. It has really made me very excited because it is, in a way, the recognition of the effort of all these years. A golden brooch at the end of the double degree program".
For her the "secret" to obtain good results during the degree program is summarized in "effort, responsibility in the work, dedication, perseverance, organization, motivation and enthusiasm for learning".
Community paella, soccer championship and zumba master classAfter the celebration of the Holy Mass, the Day of the Patroness of the School began with the lecture de Javier Armentiadirector of the Planetarium, at auditorium of Hexagon Building, with a talk entitled "The importance of science in today's society"He took the opportunity to draw attention to the need to awaken scientific vocation in children from an early age and highlighted the majority presence of women in the areas of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, something that does not occur in pure sciences or engineering, "despite the fact that women make up at least 50% of the population," said the astrophysicist from Navarre and science communicator.
At noon, after the community paella for all registered participants, the soccer championship and a zumba masterclass took place at sports center of the University.
