The University of Navarra has organized an act of recognition of the architect Javier Carvajal work this Friday, October 29, at 19.30 pm, at the School of Architecture of the Polytechnic University of Madrid. In addition to the center professor, the initiative is also promoted by the committee Superior de Colegios de Arquitectos de España, together with the architects' associations of Madrid and Catalonia and the School of Architecture of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

Around two hundred students and professors from the University of Navarra will travel to the capital for attend to attend this event, which will also include the presentation of the book La huella de un maestro. Works and awards

Javier Carvajal Ferrer (Barcelona, 1926) graduated as an architect from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (1953) with award Extraordinario de Fin de degree program, where in 1965 he obtained the Chair de Proyectos. Since 1976 he has been a professor at the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra.

His professional career has been recognized on numerous occasions: in 1960, Medal of Fine Arts; in 1964 the high school of American Architecture awarded him the award for the Best Foreign Architecture; in 1968, award for the Best Architecture in Europe by the Fritz Schumacher Foundation of the University of Hamburg; in 1973, Grand Cross of Alfonso X the Wise for teaching merits; in 1980 he won the award for the Best Architecture in Madrid awarded by the COAM; and in 2002, the award Antonio Camuñas de Arquitectura, among other awards.

His projects include the Escuela Universitaria de programs of study Empresariales de Barcelona (1961, Barcelona); the Spanish Pavilion for the Universal exhibition in New York (1963); the Valencia Tower (1972, Madrid); and the Library Services Nueva de la Universidad de Navarra (1998).
