144 students at the University's "PhD edition" Science Club
Four young women scientists will introduce students to high school diploma their research activity

The School of Science at the University of Navarra is organizing, for the eleventh consecutive year, the“Science Club,”an educational program aimed at 11th and 12th high school diploma students from various countries. The course will be held in person—although it can be followed via livestream for students living outside of Navarra—and will focus on fostering a passion for research.
“We want to expand high school diploma students’ knowledge high school diploma introduce them to research through interactions with young doctoral students, so that these students can explain their daily routines, their publications, and their goals; share how they got to where they are today; and address any questions the high school diploma may have,” says José Manuel Trillo, director development the School of Science the University of Navarra.
A total of 144 students have signed up so far for this edition, which has four sessions: 94 from Spain (54 from Navarre) and the rest from countries such as Ecuador, Guatemala, Colombia, USA, Holland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Costa Rica, Mexico and Turkey, among others.

The second session will take place on November 23 and will feature the testimony of Irene Marin to talk about "Understanding the response to cancer treatment through bioinformatics". Irene has a degree in Pharmacy (2020) and Master's Degree in Computational Methods in Science (2020) from the University of Navarra, and is currently doing the doctorate in the Cima.
For her part,Amaia Alcaldewill give a lecture December 21 lecture “The Evolution of the Nervous System and Behavior in Heliconius Butterflies.” Amaia holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology (2020) from the School of Science is currently working on her thesis at the University of Bristol.
Ane Martínez will be the keynote speaker of the fourth session on March 15, 2023 on "Using Simple Cell Technologies to decipher physiological and pathological environments". Ane is a graduate of Biochemistry (2020) and Master's Degree in Computational Methods (2021) from the University of Navarra. She is currently doing her research at Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute.
All sessions will be held at 7 p.m. at auditorium of Sciences Building of the University of Navarra. The edition is free of charge and registrations can be made through the website or email scaireta@unav.es.
