Churches and Non-Denominational Organizations in the European Unionby Alexandra Maria Rodrigues Araújo, is the new degree scroll of the Canonical Collection of the high school Martín de Azpilcueta of the University of Navarra.
This book deals with the main issues affecting the relationship between churches and non-confessional organizations and public authorities in the European Union. It is based on the analysis of the debates that have arisen in the process of essay of article 17 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU), which establishes the basic rules of the relationship between the European institutions and these groups.
Among other things, it deals with the status of the churches and respect for the national identity of the Member States, the legal status of the churches and their relationship to fundamental rights, and dialogue with the churches in the context of the democratic life of the Union.
Alexandra Maria Rodrigues Araújo holds a European Doctorate in Law from the University of Navarra. She previously graduated in law from the Portuguese Catholic University and in Canon Law from the University of Navarra. She has developed part of her research work at the University of Oxford, Cardiff and at the Max Planck Institut of History of Law European. His activity professor and research focuses on European law, family law and human rights.
