The University is launching a new Degree in Audiovisual Production

Starting in the 2027–2028 academic year, the University of Navarra will offer a new Degree 's degree in Audiovisual Creation, which emphasizes the art of storytelling, with a broad creative mastery of the audiovisual language and a project-based learning methodology. The proposal views the production of audiovisual content as a creative, technical, industrial, and cultural phenomenon, which takes shape through a comprehensive process ranging from conception and direction to content production and its positioning in the global market. 

In line with this goal, the program promotes an integrative vision of digital technology and artificial intelligence in the service of the art of storytelling and respect for human dignity. In this way, it strengthens the profile of graduates, fostering their authorship, creative autonomy, and leadership skills through a rigorous framework intellectual, ethical, and artistic framework,” notes Patricia Diego, coordinator of the Degree.

This new degree program, which builds on the tradition of programs of study in the school’s audiovisual communication program, stems from the need to adapt to the transformation of the audiovisual sector and contemporary challenges. This context includes the emergence of new and diverse consumption formats, the rise of artificial intelligence in work , and changes in the creative and cultural industries, with a special emphasis on entertainment and the audiovisual arts. 

For this reason, the new program integrates theoretical foundations and professional internship into a single educational pathway, combining various formats and content to offer a broad and progressive perspective on the field of audiovisual storytelling, regardless of distribution channels. 

“ Degree is characterized by a balanced integration of theory and internship, so that the Study program is structured on a semester basis around integrated projects ranging from the creation of short vertical videos to feature-length fiction films, including corporate content, entertainment formats, fiction series, and documentary films,” notes Patricia Diego, coordinator of the new Degree. The goal of these programs of study is to use audiovisual language to help create a culture that fosters artistic richness, freedom, and deep reflection. In addition, the program includes ongoing update in the fields of image and sound technology, with a conscious and critical use of artificial intelligence tools, as well as the executive and business skills that ensure the viability and commercial potential of projects, such as entrepreneurship. 

The program combines the " training " approach to the various professional roles in the audiovisual field with a solid foundation in the humanities. In this way, future professionals will have the essential tools to develop their artistic talent, understand the culture around them, and act responsibly within their field.

The " development " program at Study program will be more flexible, competitive, and connected, and students will be able to fill in their training with one of four specializations that cut across all the Degrees in the School of Communication: Tech and Data, Global Affairs, Fashion and Trends, and Creativity.
