The University of Navarra's Student Oncology congress , organized entirely by students, will focus this year on cancer and the future.

This will be one of the topics discussed at the VIII International Oncology congress for Students of the University of Navarra, which will be held from tomorrow, Thursday, March 1, until Saturday, March 3, at the academic center.
The meeting, organized entirely by students, is aimed at students of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy or Science, from national and foreign centers, and has by goal address both new developments in the treatment of the disease and the most cutting-edge research being carried out.
In this edition the congress will be attended by Dr. Claudia Henschke, from Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, a world authority in the study of early diagnosis in lung cancer for the last 20 years; and her colleague, Dr. David Yankelevitz. lecture Dr. Javier Martín, head of Oncology at Son Dureta Hospital (Balearic Islands), will also give a talk on the evolution in the treatment of sarcomas with targeted therapies, a tool that has broadened the horizon of survival and disease control in this pathology.
Dr. Emilio Alba, former president of the Spanish Society of Oncology and one of the leading experts in breast cancer in Spain, will give the lecture lecture "Cancer in Spain in 2015", in which he will outline the outlook for the disease in the coming years, estimated cure rates, new treatments, etc.
