Sonia Lara and Maica González-Torres coordinate a symposium at the VIII congress Internacional de Psicología y Education

The benefits of work cooperative, creative thinking, problem solving and critical thinking as basic 21st century skills that require the student to be an active agent and to control their learning, were the focus of the five presentations that made up the symposium.

The University of Alicante hosted the VIII International Psychology and Education congress (CIPE), held between June 15 and 17, and this year's theme was "Learning, Growing, Innovating". The main goal of this meeting is to provide innovative answers to the challenges that the Education is currently facing, with the aim of contributing to the improvement of the quality of education and society in general. 

In the framework of this meeting, a symposium took place, degree scroll innovation in education atthe service of the creation of a culture in the classroom that develops cognitive and non-cognitive variables essential to be competent in the XXI Century, and that is part of a project of research financed by the University of Navarra, and that is in the first year of the three years that it is foreseen to last. The principal investigator is Professor Sonia Lara Ros, from the School of Education and Psychology of the University of Navarra. In this project participate Álvaro González (professor of high school Irabia-Izaga and author of ComunicARTE), Nicolás Muracciole (Director technician of high school Irabia-Izaga) and the professors of the University of Navarra, Maica González-Torres, Concha Iriarte, Ángel Sobrino and Ana Zúñiga.

Álvaro González intervened in the symposium with a communication under the degree scroll ComunicARTE: un sistema de teaching-aprendizaje de la skill comunicativa a través del iPad. In this context, he explained what ComunicARTE is, its structure and methodology. Nicolás Muracciole presented the communication promote the self-regulation through the assessment formative with iPads making reference letter to the use of rubrics, journals and other activities included in ComunicARTE to promote the protagonism and active role of students. Muracciole elaborated this communication together with professors Lara, González and Sobrino. 

The symposium included three more communications, elaborated by Maica González-Torres, Concha Iriarte and Sonia Lara, presented by the latter, which established the theoretical framework of the research being carried out: Competences of the 21st century and non-cognitive variables: the new desideratum educational, Dispositional conception of intelligence: the importance of developing thinking cultures in the classroom and Emotion and cognition: a necessary convergence in the school environment.

The research, entitled PIUNA 11-2015: Study of the effectiveness of a system of teaching-learning of the language in Primary, which integrates the teaching of thinking and the work cooperative, has the positive external assessment of the Spanish Agency for Evaluation and Projection (ANEP).
