The School Eclesiastic of Philosophy celebrates the End of year ceremony degree program of its XIX promotion.
The academic ceremony was attended by Dean, Sergio Sánchez-Migallón, and the delegate of the graduating class, Edwin Baruelo.
On May 29, the Ecclesiastical School of Philosophy of the University of Navarra celebrated the graduation ceremony degree program of the five students who are part of the XIX graduating class. The meeting was presided over by Sergio Sánchez-Migallón, Dean of the School, and Rubén Pereda, Associate Dean, who presented the scholarships to the new graduates.
In his speech, Professor Sánchez-Migallón alluded to the recent Apostolic Constitution Veritatis Gaudium of Pope Francis, and affirmed that "we do not study or teach for abstract persons, but well inserted in history. Each epoch cannot receive its true meaning if we are unable to find purely theoretical, timeless criteria and truths, immobile pole stars that guide and drive the eventful history of cultural, scientific and social movements. This is the important role of the Philosophy, which allows us both to contemplate these truths and to illuminate the world with them: we must listen and offer elements of solution to its serious problems".
For his part, the delegate of the graduating class, Edwin Baruelo, expressed his gratitude to those who have accompanied them during these years of training: "We have prepared ourselves, thanks to God, and to this dear Ecclesiastical School of Philosophy, which like a mother welcomed us and helped us to mature and grow integrally. This, concretely, through our professors, who with their efforts, have helped us to be able to form ourselves and achieve this goal". He also wanted to thank, on behalf of himself and his companions, "all the entities that have cooperated in our training and all the spiritual and material benefactors who have supported us at all times".
