Dr. Ana Patiño, new Vice-Dean of research of the School of Medicine

The president has appointed Dr. Ana Patiño as vice dean of research of the School of Medicine, replacing Gema Frühbeck.

Dr. Patiño has a degree in Biology (1991) and a PhD in Molecular Biology (1994) from the University. She is director of the Clinical Genetics Unit, geneticist at the Cancer Center (CCUN), co-director of the laboratory of Solid Tumors and Hereditary Diseases of CIMA LAB Diagnostics, researcher of the laboratory of Advanced Therapies for Pediatric Solid Tumors of Cima, director of Innovation and research and member of the board board of directors of the department of Pediatrics of the Clinic.

Professor of Genetics since 2015, she is director of the training Unit at research and director of the pathway of research Biomedical of the School of Medicine.

The Dean, Marta Ferrer, thanks Professor Gema Frühbeck for her generosity "for having put all her time, head and dedication into making research a reality in our curriculum and in the lives of medical students. Dr. Frühbeck leaves behind a bequest that includes the pathway of research, the Research Day or having accredited and raised the doctoral program to its highest level, to cite a few examples".
