The Master's Degree Marriage Law and Canonical Procedure Program at the University of Navarra welcomed students from its fourth cohort to the Campus in Madrid. During the first in-person week, held from September 7 to 11, students met their professors and participated in various sessions at training. Following this first meeting, they will continue the program online until June, when the second in-person week will take place from the 14th to the 19th at the Campus in Pamplona.

Dean , from the Faculty of Canon Law, Joaquín Sedano, welcomed them and invited them to approach the “ Master's Degree ” program with a broad perspective. He explained that the program is part of a university that strives to remain faithful to the origins of the institution: a community of professors and students who together seek knowledge and the “ knowledge ” of ultimate truths in an interdisciplinary environment. He also congratulated them on their efforts to delve deeper into the study of marriage and noted that, through this interest, they are helping to build a more humane and dignified civilization.

The " Master's Degree, " recognized by the Holy See, serves as a " goal " for the "specialization " and " update " of professionals working in ecclesiastical courts or in the preliminary stages of counseling and guidance. It is intended, among others, for judges, defenders of the bond, notaries, attorneys, psychiatrists and psychologists, mediators, family ministry workers, and priestsengaged in pastoral care.

During the in-person week, students delved into various areas of matrimonial and canonical procedural law, such as the anthropological understanding of marriage and the family, the Church’s current regulations on matrimonial subject , the rights of the individual within the Church, and the laws and reforms of canonical procedure for matrimonial cases.

The program concluded on Friday with a visit to the Tribunal of the Rota of the Apostolic Nunciature in Spain, where the students were welcomed by the Dean and were able to gain firsthand insight into judicial internship within the Church.
