Last Thursday, January 26, more than a hundred alumni met in Burgos in a meeting promoted by the board Alumni of the city. The event, graduate "Cristianismo y cultura contemporánea, ¿podemos esperar?", counted with the participation of the Archbishop of Burgos and former student of the University of Navarra, Mons. Mario Iceta (MED'90, PhD'96), and the Full Professor of Aesthetics and professor of Master's Degree in Christianity and contemporary culture, Ricardo Piñero

During the colloquium, the speakers reflected on the role of Christianity in contemporary culture. Iceta affirmed that "we are not in a time of change, but in a change of epoch" and added that "this entails a new anthropology that conceives the human person from a more individualistic perspective". This paradigm shift, according to the speakers, leads to a disconnected society, in which even the family is fragmented. In the face of this exacerbated individualism, Piñero added that "society is not an abstract entity, but each one of us" and encouraged those present "to take part responsibly and live according to the Christian message of submission to others".

The event was organized by the Alumni Association of Burgos and the School of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Navarra, and was supported by the City Council partnership .
