The University of Navarra is hosting a workshop on the impact of Big Data on public health and the Education

Participants include experts from Harvard University, BBVA, Banco Santander and Telefónica.

Next Monday, April 3, the University of Navarra will host the II workshop of Big Data, organized by the School of Economics and the Science Unit of data of Institute for Culture and Society (ICS). It will take place at the Amigos Building and the entrance is free, prior registration by email to ctduarte@unav.es.

Christine Choirat, Data Scientist at Harvard T.H. Chan School of PublicHealth; Tomasa Rodrigo, economist at BBVA Research's Emerging Economies Transversal Analysis Unit; Daniel Peña, director of the high school Joint University Carlos III of Madrid - Banco Santander in Financial Big Data (IFIBID); and Vicente Muñoz, director of Telefónica's IoT Office.

The workshop will address the impact of Big Data and the digital revolution both in work jobs and in the health sector or the environment, as well as the adaptation of the university training to this new scenario.

First, with the lecture "Big problems, bid data: Health and environment", the Harvard expert will share the conclusions of her research on the data analysis mass public health. Then, a roundtable will address the main challenges of the digital revolution in the field educational.

I workshop of Big Data

The I workshop of Big Data, organized by the School of Economics together with the Institute for Culture and Society (ICS) of the University of Navarra, dealt with the use of digital information by multinational companies such as Google or Amazon. New tools for the massive analysis of data and fraud detection were also presented. Experts from the Basque Institute of Statistics (EUSTAT), as well as from the consulting firms Everis (London) and EY Barcelona were present.
