congress On March 14, the workshop organized by the Spanish Parliament and the high school business y Humanismo, on the "Future of the Welfare State. An Opportunity for Social Innovation". The goal of the meeting was to reflect on how the State can address the financing of welfare in the long term deadline, taking into account the social and political challenge posed by the necessary partnership, between public, private and social entities to achieve this goal.

The event was presented and introduced by Íñigo Alli, Member of Parliament of UPN, and included presentations by Montserrat Herrero, professor of political Philosophy and researcher at Institute for Culture and Society, who presented some of the challenges facing the Welfare State in its recent historical configuration. For his part, Antonio Moreno, professor at the School of Economic and Business Sciences of the University of Navarra, spoke on the problems of public financing of the social action carried out by the States, and in particular the attention to the needs of the growing number of retirees issue and the maintenance of Social Security, in an adverse demographic environment. Finally, Ricardo Martí-Fluxá, president of the Institute business and Humanism, recalled the importance of the construction of the welfare society, under the protection of the State, and the need to maintain its most positive aspects. In this sense, he recalled that "the danger of inheritance is that one enjoys its benefits without paying too much attention to the sacrifices it has cost those who have been the creators of that bequest".

The workshop was attended by fifty guests from the world of politics, business and the university. The workshop was also attended by some students of the Master's Degree in Governance and Organizational Culture.
