More than fifty benefactors of the Roman Academic Center Foundation (CARF) visited on Friday, May 24, the campus of Pamplona of the University of Navarra. Throughout the workshop they were able to know the Schools Ecclesiastical and the seminar International Bidasoa, where seminarians and priests are formed to whom they provide financial aid economic for fill in its training. Throughout this 2018/19 academic year, the CARF Foundation has allocated 1,565,000 euros in aid for accommodation and enrollment.

During the visit, besides being able to personally greet some of the students who receive this economic financial aid , they had a meeting with the Dean of the School of Theology, Juan Chapa, who, on behalf of the other two deans, Professor Antonio Viana of the School of Canon Law, and Professor Sergio Sanchez-Migallon of the School Ecclesiastical Philosophy, thanked them for their financial aid and reminded them of the important work they do. Thanks to them, 243 students from 42 countries on five continents have been trained this year.

At meeting, they were also able to hear the first-hand testimony of two University students who are being trained thanks to the financial aid provided by this foundation: José Manuel Salazar, a student at licentiate degree; and Fernando Cardoso, from high school diploma.

After the session, they went to seminar Bidasoa International, where they shared several activities with teachers and seminarians of the center. And in the afternoon the Foundation made submission of 23 cases with ornaments and sacred vessels to the students who finish their programs of study, some of them received the diaconate ordination last February 16. In this way, when they return to their countries of origin in the coming months and are ordained priests, they will be able to celebrate the Holy Mass wherever they go, since they do not always have the conditions or the adequate means.

The CARF Foundation was born in 1989 under the impulse of Blessed Alvaro del Portillo, so that priests and seminarians from all over the world receive a solid theological, human and spiritual preparation in the Ecclesiastical Schools of the University of Navarra and the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross (Rome). Every year, 10,000 benefactors make this possible.
