In the shoes of... Julia San Segundo

IN THE SHOES OF

October 5, 2026

For her, being a student representative is, above all, a way to serve others. Julia San Segundo, a senior in the law program, is taking on this academic year as a student representative with the purpose that everyone has the best possible experience at the university.

Attentive to the little details—from getting enough sleep to improve her concentration to enjoying a good conversation with a friend—she also knows exactly where she belongs: in Pamplona, close to her family.

Today, we're putting ourselves in their shoes to learn about their priorities, their plans for this school year, and the more staff side of the person who will represent the students this year.

1. Why did you decide to run for election at student representative?
To help others and dedicate myself to them, because I believe that being a delegate is a form of service.

2. What do you think is the main problem students are facing right now?
Our main problem is definitely a lack of attention.

3. What advice would you give students to solve this problem?
It’s a complex topic issue that requires a collective solution, but here are some tips that might help: avoid using the computer at class if you know it distracts you and take notes by hand; put your cell phone away while studying; make sure you get enough sleep, because lack of sleep affects your attention span; and, if you have a lot of assignments, organize your time and set aside a specific time for each one to avoid procrastinating.

4. What do you hope to achieve as a student representative before the end of the semester?
I would like all students to have the best possible experience, for all the Schools at the University to be very close-knit, for us to learn from one another, and for students to feel a sense of belonging at the University of Navarra.

5. What do you hope to learn during your time as a student representative?
I hope to learn how to organize myself and make even better use of my time, and I’m really looking forward to getting to know the University of Navarra from the inside and meeting each of its students. I also believe it’s essential to learn how to serve as a two-way channel of communication between students and the University.
