Berlys, Viscofan and Cinfa participate in the VIII "Industry Symposium" of Master's Degree E-Menú

About thirty people attended the University of Navarra at meeting on research and development

The EuropeanMaster's Degree in Food, Nutrition and Metabolism (E-Menu) of the School of Pharmacy of the University of Navarra hosted the eighth"Industry Symposium", an annual quotation that brought together representatives from Berlys, Viscofan and Cinfa to explain successful strategies of research and development carried out by their companies.

Alfredo Martínez, director of Master's Degree, moderated the roundtable with innovation as the central topic . discussion paper Andrés Urdiroz (Berlys) gave a presentation entitled"The research and development+iin the bakery industry: a case of success related to health". According to Urdiroz: "In order to innovate, we must always bear in mind three axes: pleasure, health and convenience".

subject The intervention of Ignacio Recalde (Viscofan) dealt with the"Technological aspects of the use of collagen in the food industry", a raw material for which he said: "We do not know how to find a technological alternative to a material like this, it has features that make it unique". On the other hand, the wide possibilities of collagen, and the "investment in research and development" of the business, does allow them to"find solutions that are better adapted to the new markets we are reaching".

The other guest at the table, Ignacio García Villoslada (Cinfa), entitled his lecture "Personalized nutrition in the pharmacy" to explain to the attendees the Nutrigenetic Service that has been launched by laboratory in Navarra together with partnership of the University of Navarra. This is a personalized diet service, offered from the pharmacy, based, according to García, on "the DNA of each person" and on "personalized advice accompanied by a wide range of nutritional solutions".
