A condensed article published in Science Magazine about a study from the University of Navarra's department of Physics and Applied Mathematics has won the 2015 DCSWA Newsbrief Award 2015, given by the association of DCSWA Science Writers, which went to its author, Physical Society editor Emily Conover.
As they explain, this is the first time that the award is divided into multimedia and written categories. To the latter belongs the article of the Physics study, graduate "How to prevent a sheep traffic jam", based on the research that researchers at department have been developing for several years on how traffic jams occur and what happens when pressure is exerted on the evacuation of an enclosure. The video published on the Science website corresponds to the experiments carried out with sheep to measure the forces interacting in an eviction through the door of an enclosure.
