Sara source, a 4th year Psychology student at the University of Navarra, was the winner of the final edition of La Voz de Tu School 2019. The young girl defended the classic Proud Mary by Tina Turner. The runner-up was Jean Paul Mbongo and Jaime Bayo, both from School Communication.

What has winning La Voz de tu School meant to you?
Winning or not winning doesn't really change anything, because I hadn't even thought about it. I just wanted to give it my all with my song so I didn't think I could have done better. I'm super happy, obviously, for the award, and very grateful. We could have won anyone, because we all did incredibly well.

How did you experience the final?
It was a great experience and the final was the crowning moment. It was great, I had an incredible time.

What does the song you defended mean to you and why did you choose it?
The song was Proud Mary by Tina Turner. Actually, it was not a proposal of mine. From Jana they proposed me this song and I said yes, but I asked them to help me with the dance, because the song is very moving. It meant getting out of my comfort zone completely. They have helped me a lot to feel comfortable with the song and to enjoy it one hundred percent.

What has been the greatest challenge?
Dancing. In front of the mirror, I do amazing, but in front of people I have a hard time letting go. Actually, my biggest challenge was to lose my embarrassment. I have been helped a lot, not only by my teachers, but also by my classmates. They are the best.

Had you ever been on stage before participating in La Voz de Tu School?
Yes, a few times. I go to a singing school and at the end of the course the students give a concert.

What is music for you?
Music has always been a part of me. It makes us cry, jump, scream, dance, sing. It is an outlet, a release. I've been composing for a long time and when I write my songs I just want to explain how I feel. It's a therapeutic medium.

Sharing music is the best. That's why this experience has been so good.

How has the experience been with your colleagues and the Jana Producciones team?
My colleagues, besides being incredibly talented, are very, very good. We have been very close and I speak for all of us when I say that it is a great pity that it is over and that there will be no more rehearsals. They are very professional and allowing us to participate in this world has been an unrepeatable opportunity.

Would you like to continue your training as an artist?
Definitely yes. I am very motivated.

Some finalists and winners of this competition have made the jump to the program La Voz España. Would you like to?
I would love to be able to continue singing and enjoying myself. Without a doubt, it would be an enriching experience, so why not?

What would you recommend to someone who is considering presenting in the next edition of La Voz de Tu School?
Do it, you don't lose anything. You will meet people who like the same things you do, you will learn a lot of things with a super professional team that will help you a lot and you will surely discover things about yourself that you didn't know.
