More than 70 schoolchildren from Navarre participate in the VI History Olympiad held at the University of Navarre.

The students, from 14 schools, reflected on the Cold War.

A total of 74 students from high school diploma and 4th of ESO, from 14 schools in Navarra, have participated in the VI Olympiad of History, held at the University of Navarra on the 30th.

Organized by the School of Philosophy and Letters of the academic center and the Society of Historical programs of study of Navarra (SEHN), the students had to make a test written in Spanish, Basque or English, about "The Cold War: from the iron curtain to the red telephone (1945-1962)".

The participating centers were: Calasanz-Escolapios, HIjas de Jesús, Irabia-Izaga, Luis Amigó, Miravalles-El Redín, San Ignacio (Jesuits), Santa María la Real (Maristas), Santo Tomás (Dominicas), Vedruna-FEC, IES Basoko, IES place de la Cruz, IESO Iñaki Ochoa de Olza, Liceo Monjardín, high school Nuestra Señora del Huerto.

One of the objectives of this competition is to put in contact students and teachers of History of ESO and high school diploma with the university academic community, specialized in the historical teaching and research . It also seeks to give greater prominence to the non-university programs of study of History in the Comunidad Foral. The initiative has the partnership of the Chair of language and Basque Culture of the University of Navarra and with the sponsorship of Alianza publishing house, bookshop Universitaria (group Troa) and Diario de Navarra.

Among the prizes is a discount on the price of the enrollment to study a Degree of the School of Philosophy y Letras, a set of books from Alianza publishing house and a gift voucher from bookshop Troa. The submission awards ceremony will take place on May 10 at the University of Navarra.
