From E-MENU to high school of research Sanitaria de Santiago de Compostela

Former E-MENU student, Paula Mariño, completed the Master's Degree during the 2016-2017 academic year and now, with perspective, she tells us how her experience at Master's Degree was and how it has helped her in her professional degree program

Paula did her programs of study from Degree at the University of Santiago de Compostela, specifically, she decided to study degree program in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. Once she finished the Degree, she began to explore the different possibilities of postgraduate studies and, of all the possible options, the Master's Degree European University Degree in Food, Nutrition and Metabolism (E-MENU) was the one that most strongly captured her attention.

"During the first few months of Master's Degree I realized that my decision had been the right one. The program teaches the latest advances in nutrition, as well as a wide-ranging training at research from the best professionals in each sector. In addition, the atmosphere created with teachers and classmates is unbeatable," Paula tells us.

Regarding the TFM, Paula had the opportunity to do it at the department of Food Science and Physiology of the University of Navarra, participating in one of the most cutting-edge projects being carried out. "Fortunately, thanks to the excellent plan of training researcher and the knowledge acquired during the realization of the TFM, I knew that my future was within the fieldof research ".

Paula is currently a predoctoral researcher at high school de research Sanitaria de Santiago de Compostela (IDIS), where she enjoys a predoctoral financial aid of the Xunta de Galicia. At the same time, she is doing a thesis in the group of Epigenomics in Endocrinology and Nutrition studying the epigenetic mechanisms involved in the obesity-cancer relationship.

"Thanks to the extensive knowledge that I acquired during the Master's DegreeI was able to start my research degree program with more confidence. At final, my training at the University of Navarra has been the best decision to continue learning and training" concludes Paula.
