Silvia Milagros (Biology '16) ends this year with one more recognition in her degree program. To the one already received for the best academic transcript of the University of Navarra last year, the award Talento, is added the award Extraordinary Degree of Biology, which she received at the School of Sciences on the Day of patron saint, St. Albert the Great.

Embarked on a new challenge -theMaster's Degree in research Biomedical of the University-, Silvia is clear that this success has had a double component: the support of her family and friends, always present in the years of degree program; and the organization, to study but also to get involved in other activities. In her case, in dance, within the group Oberena Dantza Taldea.

How did you receive the recognition of the extraordinary award of Degree?
I received the award with great enthusiasm. It gave me great joy, because it not only made me excited, but also the people who have accompanied me and helped me during the degree program, such as my family and my closest friends. It was like a recognition of all the effort of the last four years.

What has helped you the most to get such good results?
There are two things that I think have helped me a lot to achieve these results. On the one hand, my closest friends and, above all, my family, who have had to put up with my stressful moments during exams and paper submissions. And, on the other hand, the organization. I have not only dedicated myself to studying and socializing, I am also part of a regional dance group (Oberena Dantza Taldea), in which I also teach a group of young people, which also took me a lot of time. However, at the same time it made me disconnect from the stress of the university.

Where are you going to direct your professional future?
I am now doing the Master's Degree in research Biomedical at the University of Navarra. My intention is to continue with the doctoral thesis . Apart from research, I love teaching. Although you never know where life is going to take you....

What has been for you the best and the hardest thing about studying Biology at Degree ?
The most positive thing is that it has given me an impressive breadth of vision. I have discovered areas of knowledge that I would never have thought I would like so much. For example, I knew that I liked everything related to Genetics, organography or histology, but I also fell in love with botany, plant physiology or microbiology. Although it may sound cliché, this Degree has made me realize that my vocation is Biology, in all its aspects. I think this is a complete and very very nice degree program .

The hardest part, for me and I guess for the rest of the students, were the exam periods. But there was my family, especially my mother, to help and support me at all times.
