The School of Sciences prepares the winners of the National Biology Olympiad.

They will soon participate in the International and Iberoamerican Biology Olympiads.

The eight Spanish students who will participate in the International and Iberoamerican Biology Olympiads have been trained for a week at the University of Navarra. Specifically, in the School of Sciences and in the research center Applied Medicine (CIMA) of the University of Navarra, where they have had a tutor that has advised them in the various practical and theoretical sessions focused on the content of the test.

The members of El Club de la Ciencia, enrolled in one of the Degrees courses offered at School (Biology, Biochemistry , Chemistry and the double Degree at Chemistry and Biochemistry ) have joined this preparation for the first time.

Among the subjects worked on at CIMA are: Cell structure, Anatomy and plant physiology, Anatomy and animal physiology, Ethology, Ecology, Genetics and evolution and Biosystematics. On the other hand, in the School of Sciences, they have carried out practices of Biochemistry , Zoology, Evolution and diversity, Plant Histology and Microbiology with professors of these Departments, which have served to resolve doubts about the syllabus.

Quim Llorens (Barcelona), Andrea Lagillo (Cantabria), Diego Ors (Alicante) and Ignacio Larrea (Madrid) will participate in the International Olympiad, which will take place in Switzerland from July 14 to 21. The latter, also winner of the Olympiad of Chemistry in Madrid, and future student of the double Degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry .

The four finalists for the Ibero-American Olympiad, which will be held in Argentina from September 1 to 7, are: David Díez (Zaragoza), Esther Alonso (Jerez de la Frontera), Juan Vallejo (Logroño) and Mikel Marín Baquero (Zaragoza). Finally, the students of El Club de la Ciencia Mario Peñas, Inés Purroy, Iñaki Ortiz, Eduardo Rodríguez and Julen Madurga, all from Navarra, have participated in the week of training of the University of Navarra.
