The School of Theology celebrated on Saturday, May 24, the end of degree program of 53 of its students: 33 are part of the LVII promotion of licentiate degree in Theology and 20 of the LIX promotion of the high school program in Theology.

Professor Isabel Leon was the godmother chosen by the students of both graduating classes. In her speech she addressed a few words to the new graduates in which she presented some ideas on the beauty of Christ, based on the sermons of St. Bonaventure. Contemplating this beauty invites us to unite science and love, not to separate study from contemplation and experience. He encouraged them to keep alive their capacity for wonder and to allow themselves to be challenged by the figure of Christ, making theology a search that leads to meeting staff with Him. "The study of theology will nourish in you the fire of desire and the joy of contemplation, and thus you will know how to transmit the ineffable beauty of Christ to all the people you will meet on the path of life," he said, calling for a believing and prayerful gaze as a source of intellectual depth and apostolic fruitfulness.

On behalf of the students, the delegates Alder Harol Alvarez and Paul Louis Nulley, delegate of the School and of the licentiate degree in Biblical Theology respectively, spoke on behalf of the students, who thanked the professors, the University, their families, their classmates and the benefactors who have made possible everything they have experienced during their years of training in Pamplona.

Professor Santiago Casas, Associate Dean of the School, on behalf of the Dean, Gregorio Guitián, closed the end of the degree program. In his message he emphasized some of the most significant messages of Jesus before the farewell of his disciples: "They can serve you as a guide and reference letter in your new stage". In this sense, he spoke to them about the love of neighbor, as an active mission statement that they should carry out daily; of the Holy Spirit, as a guide on their way; and of the importance of being bearers of hope to work being aware that their actions can transform lives. He also reminded them that Jesus' farewell to his disciples was a beginning: "In the same way, what they learned here does not end, but should be an impulse to continue walking with faith and commitment, both professionally and spiritually".
