On September 1 and 2, the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition welcomed the 115 students who are beginning this year one of the four postgraduate program programs offered both at the Pamplona Campus and in Madrid.
The new students come from 10 different countries and have completed their Degree programs of study at 40 different universities. Of these, 37 are starting this year's Master's Degree in Drug research, development and Innovation, while the Master's Degree in Galenic design and Manufacturing in the Pharmaceutical Industry will have 22 new students from different disciplines after having diversified their entry profile . For its part, the seventh class of the Master's Degree in Pharma-Biotech Business management , which is taught in Madrid, will have 41 students. Finally, the Master's Degree in Sustainable management and Nutritional Innovation in Food Companies is starting its course at the Madrid Campus with 15 students.
During the welcome ceremony, Mª Javier Ramírez, dean of the School, invited the students to make the most of the opportunities offered by the different programs: "I don't know the reasons that have led you to continue with your training, but I think you have made a great choice: taking a Master's Degree will provide you with a higher level of knowledge, a mastery beyond the execution of technical skills or the management of cutting-edge equipment. In this School we want to contribute something more in your integral training : qualities such as work , professionalskill , communication, critical thinking... so valued by employers and demanded by society".
Along the same lines, Juan Manuel Irache, Associate Dean of the postgraduate program, highlighted the turning point in professional performance that each of the programs will represent for the students: "They have been designed taking into account the current challenges of the healthcare sector and their goal is to provide you not only with technical knowledge but also with the ability to innovate and lead in changing and highly competitive environments. Over the next few months you will have the opportunity to interact with professionals in the sector and put into internship what you have learned in real environments. Success will depend not only on what you receive, which would be no small thing, but also on what you contribute, which will enrich the collective learning and will have an impact on your professional performance".
Both welcome sessions featured exceptional guests to introduce the students to their future professional careers. In the case of Pamplona, Laura Corcuera, General Manager of the Navarra Health Cluster, presented the "Health Ecosystems" that exist in the region, while in Madrid, María Paola Chiesi, Vice President of Chiesi Farmaceutici S.p.A., discussed how to "Build a future with purpose: health and sustainability".
