Dr. Jorge Iriarte, Dean of the School of Medicine of the University of Navarra, has been accredited by the National Agency for Assessment of Quality and Accreditation as Full Professor of Medicine.
graduate D. in Medicine from the University of Navarra, Dr. Iriarte received his M.D. in 1994. Specialist via spanish medical residency program in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology, between June 1994 and September 1996 he completed a fellowship in Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. In October 2008 he obtained the accreditation from National Agency for Assessment of Quality and Accreditation as Senior Associate Professor. He subsequently joined the board Board of Directors of the School as Associate Dean of research and doctorate, and in August 2010 he was appointed Dean.
He develops his work assistance in the Clinical Neurophysiology Service of the Clínica Universidad de Navarrawhere she coordinates the Sleep and Video-EEG Unit, which has been accredited by the Spanish Sleep Society and the European Sleep Research Society.
Dr. Iriarte is the author of four books and 92 articles included in the JCR, published in journals such as Brain, Neurology, Journal of Neurosciences, Epilepsia, Sleep, Multiple Sclerosis, European Journal of Neurology, Seizure or Clinical Neurophysiology. In addition, he has participated in ten competitive research projects, including a European project , currently in force, and three funded by the FIS.
Among the distinctions he has received are those awarded by the Spanish Society of Neurology, such as the award Decade of the Brain in Multiple Sclerosis in 1994, the awards for the best work on Epilepsy published in 2003, 2004-5 and 2006, and the award for the Best work on Sleep, published in 2007. He also received the award for Best work Published in 2011 in the journal Medical & Biological Engineering & Computing.
He is also a member of committee publishing house of Frontiers Neurology, Neurology and Neurology Journal and reviewer of national and international journals, including Neurology, Epilepsia, Movement Disorders, Clinical Neurophysiology, Sleep, Sleep and Breathing or Neurology India.
Dr. Iriarte currently teaches classes in Nervous System (subject of which he is the professor manager), Preclinical and Clinical Neurophysiology. He is also the manager of the Course of postgraduate program in Sleep Pathology. As part of his advisory duties and tutorial he has 15 students assigned to him, second, fifth and sixth year.
