The School of Science University of Navarra is once again joining in the celebration of Science and Technology Week by organizing activities for schools in Navarra and neighboring provinces. The event will take place November 9–13 at the University of Navarra’s “ Sciences Building ” and November 17–19 at the University’s graduate school campus in Madrid.

“With Science Week, we want to open our doors and bring the world of science closer to young people in a lively and direct way,” says Nerea Garitano, the faculty’s manager for outreach. “Our goal is to inspire vocations, ignite that spark of curiosity, and show them that science is not just an academic subject , but a fascinating tool based on creativity, passion, and rigor to understand and improve the world around us.”

In Pamplona, from Monday, November 9, through Friday, November 13, a series of experiments will be held for students from Sophomore and high school diploma. During these workshops, they will learn different techniques for studying wildlife, discover the microorganisms around us, get a closer look at insects through microscopes, and analyze DNA. The workshops will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the University of Navarra’s “ Sciences Building .”

After the experiments and workshops conclude, a series of informative lectures will be held at 12:30 p.m. at position , presented by experts from various fields of science with extensive experience in their respective knowledge dissemination. Through these scientific sessions, you’ll be able to explore what happens to the brain when drugs are ingested, the role of artificial intelligence in scientific research , One Health, the Chemistry of color, and the future of Alzheimer’s disease.

In addition, the University of Navarra’s School of Science and Technology ( School of Science ) is organizing the workshop Open House and Science Experimentation Event, where 1st- and 2nd-year students high school diploma will learn about the School of Natural Sciences ( academic programs ) and the various science-related programs ( employment opportunities ) offered by the Faculty of Natural Sciences ( Degrees ). During the morning, students will be able to participate in hands-on activities in the university’s laboratories, while their chaperones will take part in a parallel program featuring sessions on academic programs, admissions, accommodation , and scholarships.

For its part, the University of Navarra Science Museum, at partnership —in partnership with the Caja Navarra Foundation and the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) / Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities—is contributing to this Science Week with the exhibition “Color: An Explosion of Science” and activities centered around the “ sample ” for audiences of all ages. The “ exhibition ” can be visited at the University of Navarra’s “ Sciences Building .”

Experiments and Lectures in Madrid
Following the same model format as in Pamplona, from Tuesday, November 17, to Thursday, November 19, at the University of Navarra’s Graduate School in Madrid (C/Marquesado de Sta. Marta, 3 - San Blas-Canillejas), experiments will be conducted for schools. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., participants will discover how we have statement messages throughout history, the rocks and minerals that make up the city, and how a drug works at the molecular level. Meanwhile, the lectures will take place at 12:30 p.m., during which participants will have the chance to step into the shoes of a doctor to solve a clinical case, analyze the benefits of nutrition on academic performance, and discover how science and art can go hand in hand.

In addition, four workshops will be held at the “ Clínica Universidad de Navarra ” in Madrid: “Act in Time: First Aid Course” on November 17, “Beyond the Hospital Setting: Diagnosis and Treatment Workshops” on November 19, “CSI in the Kitchen: Operation Zero Cross” on November 23 and 24, and “Geneticists for a Day” from November 25 to 27.
