The project Artichoke, winner of the University's first Innovation Fast Track

The project Artichoke result has won the first Innovation Fast Track, organized by Innovation Factory, Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the University of Navarra. The team, made up of five students from different Schools, has developed a system that aims to revolutionize the usual consumption of soap and other hygiene products staff.

This consists of inserting a biodegradable gel capsule into the shower head, thus saving a large amount of plastic packaging and contributing to the conservation of the environment.

The members of the winning group are Antxon Arizaga, student of Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering; Begoña de Pablos, student of Architecture; the students of Master's Degree in research and development +i of Medicines Elena Lucas and Celia Martí; and Alejandro Pérez, student of Industrial Organization in the School of Engineering-Tecnun. Also, Ricardo Pérez, professor of department of business of the School of Economics, was the sponsor of project.

"We started with no foundation. Each of us came from different careers and none of us came from business. The training that we have been given from Emprendimiento has helped us, above all, to focus," said Celia Martí. She also explained that Artichoke has been possible thanks to the talks given by entrepreneurs who have developed their idea, the professors who have been showing them the way and all the workshops held.

As award, the team will enjoy a trip to Israel for a week, to learn about the innovation ecosystem of the country. During the month of June, they will have the opportunity to participate in an acceleration program and present their work to the Venture Capital Fund UN research and development+i, promoted by the University of Navarra.

Antxon Arizaga, team member, pointed out that they have learned "to work as a team, with people who are different from you and who are in other cities"; as well as to organize themselves and "make time when apparently you don't have it" to promote project. "The Innovation Fast Track has helped us to open our minds, to take into account the opinions of others and that these were always constructive," added Elena Lucas.

For the selection of the winner among the six participating projects, 60% of the work made up to the Innovation Factory Day and 40% of the presentation before a jury, composed of five invited entrepreneurs -JoséMoncada(La Bolsa Social), Pablo España (Seekers), Pablo España (Seekers), Izanami Martínez (Ygea Wellness), Fernando Odriozola (WaveGarden) and Patxi Echeveste(Wattio) - as well as the representatives of Schools MónicaHerrero(Communication), Íñigo Gutiérrez (Tecnun) and César Martín(Architecture).

First edition of the Innovation Fast Track (IFT)

With this workshop concluded the first Innovation Fast Track (IFT), a pathway of training internship in innovation and entrepreneurship organized by Innovation Factory, Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the University of Navarra, aimed at participants to learn and develop skills around real projects, designed by themselves.
