The campus of the University of Navarra has been awarded for the seventh consecutive year with the international Green Flag Award, given by the institution Keep Britain Tidy for the management of parks and green spaces.
The accreditation places the campus of the academic center as one of the best parks in the world due to the good management of the space, with high environmental standards, as well as its conservation, maintenance and excellence to receive visitors.
The 2024 edition of the Green Flag Award has recognized 2,466 sites from 18 countries. In Europe, 54 parks and green spaces were accredited, in countries such as Spain, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Holland, Portugal. In addition to the University of Navarra, Spain included the Quevedo Park in León and the Parque de la Granja in León, the campus of the University of Huesca and, for the first time, the Senda Mediterraneum in Málaga.
The campus of the University of Navarra is the largest park in Pamplona, with 113 hectares. It has a botanical route where you can observe a variety of shrubs and more than 4,190 trees of 173 different species, including Japanese cherry trees, ginkgos, red beeches or sequoias. It also offers a 5-kilometer circular running circuit. The sustainable management of campus and the care for people and the environment are part of the Strategy 2025 of the University of Navarra.
