The president of the University visit the island of La Palma
The president of the Island Council, Sergio Rodríguez, invited the president María Iraburu to visit the island and to have the first follow-up meeting of the agreement signed between both entities.

During July 11, 12 and 13, the president of the University of Navarra, María Iraburu Elizalde, will visit La Palma on the occasion of the generalprotocol of actions signed last May 6 in Pamplona. At the event, the president of the Island Council, Sergio Rodríguez, invited María Iraburu to visit the island and to have the first follow-up meeting of the agreement during the visit.
The president will be accompanied by the director of the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra, Carlos Naya; the director of the office of the president, Isabel Olloqui; and the director of development of the School of Architecture, Eduardo Domingo.
During her stay, the president will visit the municipality of El Paso and learn about the island's maritime resources, as well as the astronomical observatory of the Roque de los Muchachos.
The general action protocol seeks to strengthen the channels of partnership between the island and the University of Navarra, mainly in three areas: teaching, research and knowledge dissemination.
The University of Navarra has been conducting academic activities on the island for three years. During this academic year, students from School of Architecture made proposals for a multifunctional center for the elderly at partnership with the City Council of El Paso. In addition, students of the Degree in Environmental Sciences have learned first-hand about the island's biodiversity, and a summer course on the uses and applications of iron was given by local artisan and blacksmith Yoel Díaz Sánchez, among other activities.
